Our founder, Bill Whyte, initially created our products in the mid-1990s out of a need for soothing relief for his hands as a carpenter in the harsh New England winters. From a simple herbal balm made of beeswax and olive oil, Badger was born. Our products range from skin care essentials to reef-safe mineral sunscreens, all designed to be good for the skin and bad for bugs.

In an effort to reduce our environmental impact, we are proud to partner with the ReSea Project to remove ocean waste plastic equivalent to the weight of our plastic bottles from the ocean. Our dedication to sustainability extends to our Baby line, which includes gentle and nourishing products like foaming shampoo & wash, zinc oxide diaper cream, and mineral sunscreens tailored for little ones.

If you're wondering about the safety of our products for your baby, rest assured that they are hypoallergenic and safe for sensitive skin. While they are not tear-free due to being true soaps, caution should be taken around the eye area. Badger Baby products are safe for babies over 6 months, as tested by Abich in 2023, and are made from mostly organic, gluten-free, GMO-free, cruelty-free ingredients.
